Everything you get

Venture Development

Structured coaching from raw idea to a defined business model — market research, customer discovery, competitive positioning, and revenue strategy.

Pitch Deck Mastery

Build a professional-grade deck that covers problem, solution, market, traction, and ask. Reviewed by mentors with real investor experience.

Live Pitch Coaching

One-on-one delivery coaching — pacing, presence, handling Q&A, and owning the room. Every student pitches cold before they ever step on stage.

Mentor Network Access

Direct access to Open Admits' network of founders, operators, and investors who provide feedback, connections, and real-world context.

Pitch Day Event

A culminating live pitch event in front of a panel of entrepreneurs. Students compete for feedback, recognition, and funding opportunities.

Application Integration

We document every milestone — revenue, customers, pitch wins — and help you translate the experience into a compelling college application narrative.

How It Works
Step by step.

A clear process from day one to acceptance.

01

Idea Sprint

A focused workshop to identify business problems worth solving, aligned to your interests, skills, and available time.

02

Validate the Problem

Customer interviews and rapid market research to confirm a real need exists before you build anything.

03

Build the Business

Define your model, launch an MVP, and acquire your first customers or users. Coached weekly check-ins throughout.

04

Build the Pitch

Construct your investor-grade deck and narrative. Mentor reviews at every stage until the story is airtight.

05

Rehearse the Stage

Live mock pitches with recorded feedback. We prepare you for every question a sharp panel will ask.

06

Pitch Day

Take the stage at the Sharp Tank pitch event. Present your venture, field live Q&A, and compete for recognition.

Meet our expert counselors.

Ivy League graduates, former admissions officers, and subject-matter experts — each counselor brings firsthand knowledge of exactly what it takes to get where you're going.

Sharp Tank
★★★★★

I pitched in front of real investors as a junior. By the time I applied to college, I had a venture, a pitch win, and a story no other applicant could match.

The mentor access alone was worth it. One introduction from our coach led to a real pilot partnership that I could document as traction.

Is this right for you?

You have an idea but no roadmap

You've thought about starting something but don't know how to validate it, build it, or pitch it.

You want verifiable entrepreneurial experience

You want your application to show real traction — not a club you started with two members.

Targeting business or entrepreneurship programs

You're applying to Wharton, Ross, or other competitive programs where a venture matters.

You thrive under competition

You want to defend your idea in front of a live investor panel and compete on stage.

How We Help
What makes us different.
01 — Traction

Revenue-Focused

We push every student past the idea phase to paying customers and documented, verifiable traction.

02 — Delivery

Stage-Ready

Every student pitches cold before Pitch Day — no first-timer jitters when it actually counts.

03 — Narrative

Application-Integrated

Every milestone is documented and translated into a college narrative that admissions readers understand.

Ready to build your best application?

Spots are limited. We work with a small cohort each cycle so every student gets genuine attention — not a ticket queue.

FAQs
Common questions, straight answers.

Does my student need a business idea to apply?

No — the program opens with an idea sprint designed to surface compelling concepts. Students with existing ideas are also welcome and can accelerate through the early stages.

When does the program run?

Sharp Tank runs in cohorts — typically spring and fall. Pitch Day takes place at the end of each cohort cycle. Spots are limited per cohort.

What happens at the Pitch Day event?

Students present their ventures to a live panel of entrepreneurs and investors in a structured format. The panel asks questions, provides feedback, and recognizes top performers. It is a real stage — not a classroom exercise.

How does this help with college admissions?

Verified entrepreneurship — especially with documented revenue, customers, or a competition result — is one of the strongest differentiators in a college application. We integrate the Sharp Tank experience directly into your admissions strategy.
